US Treasury to Announce Maximum Buyback Amounts for 10-20 Year Treasuries

The US Treasury is scheduled to announce the maximum buyback amount for 10-year to 20-year Treasury bonds tomorrow at 23:00 Beijing time. On September 10, the Treasury will also disclose the actual purchase amounts from its buyback program initiated in May 2024. While the Treasury previously committed to a minimum buyback of $4 billion per operation through November 4, market expectations suggest that Treasury Secretary Bessent may increase the scale beyond current targets.
