Malone Lam to enter plea in $230 million Bitcoin theft case

Malone Lam is scheduled to appear in federal court on Tuesday for a plea hearing regarding a $230 million Bitcoin theft. Prosecutors allege that Lam led an 18-person group in August 2024 to steal over 4,100 Bitcoin from a Washington D.C. investor via social engineering, subsequently spending the funds on luxury goods and travel. If he pleads guilty, he will be the 11th defendant to do so in this case.
