Uzbekistan Launches HUMO Stablecoin Pilot Program

The National Agency of Perspective Projects of Uzbekistan, in collaboration with the Central Bank, has initiated a pilot program to test the HUMO stablecoin as a payment instrument. Each token is pegged 1:1 to the Uzbek som and backed by government securities. The project, which will run for up to three years, involves Humo Digital, Asterium, various banks, and over 20 retail companies. The pilot covers the issuance, circulation, and redemption of HUMO, as well as its use for purchasing goods and services.
