UBS and Nine Institutions Launch CHF Stablecoin Sandbox Test

UBS, along with PostFinance, Sygnum, Raiffeisen, Zürcher Kantonalbank, BCV, SIX, TWINT, and Swiss Stablecoin AG, launched a sandbox test for the CHFD stablecoin on September 8, 2026. The project, pegged 1:1 to the Swiss Franc, focuses on automated inter-institutional trading, digital asset settlement, and programmable payments. The pilot, which aims to improve fraud prevention and payment efficiency, is scheduled to run through the end of 2026.
