Google Unveils WeatherNext 3 AI Model for Energy Markets

Google has launched WeatherNext 3, an AI weather forecasting model designed for the energy sector. The model provides hourly global updates with 5km resolution for surface variables and 11km for precipitation, significantly improving upon the 25km resolution of its predecessor. By training directly on weather station data and satellite imagery, the model reduces latency from 7 hours to 3-4 hours. It is integrated into Google services and available to corporate clients via Google Cloud.
