Altcoin Perpetual Futures Open Interest Surpasses Bitcoin

Data from Coinalyze indicates that open interest in altcoin perpetual futures has exceeded that of Bitcoin (BTC) for the first time since December 2024. Bitcoin's open interest currently stands at approximately $23.9 billion, accounting for 37% of the total, while the remainder is distributed among Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), XRP, BNB, and Zcash (ZEC). Zcash has seen a significant surge in leverage, with open interest climbing to $2.4 billion following its price breakout.
