Blockstream confirms vulnerability fix, requests return of 4,000 BTC from white hat hacker

Blockstream has notified a white hat hacker that the vulnerability in the Liquid network has been patched, clearing the way for the return of approximately 4,000 BTC. The hacker, who previously extracted the funds, had conditioned the return on the resolution of the security flaw and communicated with the company via public OP_RETURN messages on the Bitcoin blockchain. Following the patch, Blockstream issued a PGP-signed message confirming the fix. As of the latest update, 3,998.5 BTC remain under the hacker's control.
