South Korean Authorities Arrest Four for Terror Financing via USDT

Police in Gwangju, South Korea, have arrested four Uzbek nationals on charges of financing terrorism. The suspects allegedly transferred 4,267 USDT to the UN-designated terrorist group Katibat Tawhid wal Jihad (KTJ) between August 2024 and April 2025. The group reportedly received crypto funds from KTJ to purchase vehicles and heavy machinery for shipment to Syria, marking the first case in South Korea involving the use of crypto for terror-related logistics.
