Fake Claude Desktop App Spreads RevStealer Malware to Target Crypto Wallets
Cybersecurity firm Morphisec reported that a fake desktop application disguised as Anthropic's Claude Opus 5 is distributing RevStealer malware. The malware targets over 50 types of cryptocurrency wallets and steals sensitive data including browser passwords, cookies, and VPN configurations. It features anti-detection mechanisms to avoid virtual environments. Additionally, Kaspersky identified a new malware framework called OkoBot that harvests wallet files and injects malicious extensions to steal assets.
