US SEC Plans to Repeal Shareholder Proxy Proposal Rules
The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is preparing to repeal rules governing how and when shareholders of public companies can submit proxy proposals. According to a notice from the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB), the SEC submitted the proposal for review last week. This move is part of an initiative led by SEC Chair Paul Atkins to reshape the relationship between shareholders and corporate management.
