Human Rights Foundation Awards Bitcoin Development Grants to 16 Global Projects

The Human Rights Foundation (HRF) has distributed over 500 million satoshis to 16 projects through its Bitcoin Development Fund (BDF). The grants, announced on August 25, 2026, support open-source Bitcoin and Nostr development, self-custody, wallet security, censorship-resistant communication, and freedom tech education. Three of the recipients are based in Africa, with other projects spanning Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
