KDDI Launches Crypto Wallet on au PAY App

KDDI, au Coincheck Digital Assets, and HashPort have launched the 'αU wallet' as a mini-app within the au PAY mobile payment platform. The non-custodial wallet allows users to exchange Ponta points for WBTC, ETH, and JPYC, or purchase WBTC and ETH via Coincheck OnRamp. Assets held in the wallet can be converted into au PAY balances for daily shopping. The service is operated by au Coincheck Digital Assets using HashPort's wallet infrastructure. The standalone αU wallet app will be discontinued on October 30, 2026, as the company shifts focus to the integrated mini-app.
