Cosmos Hub Recovers 1.227 Million ATOM Following Neutron Governance Attack

Cosmos Labs reported that a governance attack on Neutron on September 22 resulted in the unauthorized transfer of funds from protocols like Astroport, with approximately 1.73 million ATOM moved to Cosmos Hub. While Cosmos Hub remained secure, validators halted the network to prevent further outflows. Through the Gaia v28.3.0 patch, 1.227 million ATOM were secured into a 4/6 multi-signature account managed by six community validators. The network has since resumed operations, and the recovered funds are subject to future governance proposals. Approximately 500,000 ATOM and 169,000 ATOM returned to the attacker's address remain unrecovered.
