Bitget Increases Reported Theft Estimate to $388 Million Following Zcash and TRON Asset Discovery

Bitget has updated its security incident report, raising the total value of stolen assets to $388 million from the previously reported $352 million. The adjustment accounts for additional assets on the Zcash and TRON networks that were not initially included in the audit. Withdrawals remain suspended as the exchange continues its investigation and has launched a bounty program to assist in fund recovery. The breach affected multiple chains, including EVM networks, XRP Ledger, Zcash, and TRON, with stolen assets spanning various tokens such as XRP, ETH, ZEC, and TRX. CEO Gracy Chen previously suggested potential links to North Korean hacking groups, though this remains under investigation.
