Binance Partnership Boosts USDC Distribution to Challenge USDT in Emerging Markets

Circle's expanded five-year partnership with Binance, which includes a $100 million investment from the exchange, is significantly increasing the distribution of the USDC stablecoin. Since the partnership began in late 2024, USDC-quoted spot markets on Binance have grown from 140 to 329, with monthly trading volumes rising from $20 billion-$40 billion to consistently over $80 billion. While USDC's market cap of approximately $74 billion remains behind Tether's USDT at $140 billion, analysts suggest Binance's network could drive adoption in emerging markets. However, experts note that shifting users from USDT will be challenging due to Tether's deep liquidity and established payment networks.
