Fake Coinbase Advisor Sentenced for $16 Million Crypto Theft

Ronald Spektor, 23, has been sentenced to four to twelve years in prison for defrauding approximately 100 Coinbase users of $16 million. Spektor posed as a Coinbase support agent to convince victims to transfer their assets to wallets under his control. He pleaded guilty to 31 counts, including money laundering and grand larceny.
