Polygon Labs Develops 'Agent Pay Channels' for AI Payments, Processing Over 11 Million Transactions Per Second

Polygon Labs has introduced 'agent pay channels' designed to handle high-frequency, micro-payments for AI agents. In a test using 25 hubs, the system processed over 11 million verified payment updates per second. The architecture separates payment processing speed from on-chain settlement, using the 'x402' protocol for service pricing and payment requests. Polygon plans to integrate this technology into its 'Polygon Open Money Stack' to support scalable AI-driven economic activity.
