Visa Survey: US Stablecoin Adoption Could Rise to 56% With Bank-Grade Protections
A Visa-commissioned survey of 2,192 US adults conducted by Morning Consult indicates that while current stablecoin adoption interest is at 36%, it could increase to 56% if users are provided with bank-like fraud protection and deposit insurance. The study highlights that 64% of respondents prioritize the reputation of the payment provider over the underlying technology. Although commercial banks are the most trusted entities for digital currency services, the GENIUS Act, signed by President Donald Trump on July 18, 2025, prohibits stablecoin issuers from promising FDIC-style coverage, though it does offer protections in the event of insolvency.
