Cardano Integrates x402 Standard to Enable AI Agent Payments

The Cardano Foundation has integrated the x402 payment standard, allowing AI agents and applications to process payments for API calls and online services using ADA or native tokens. By joining the x402 ecosystem, Cardano joins networks like Solana and XRP Ledger in facilitating automated internet payments. The integration, developed in collaboration with the Masumi Network, enables developers to handle transactions via HTTP without requiring traditional account setups or API keys. ADA price rose approximately 6% over the 24-hour period following the announcement.
