X introduces X Numbers for direct messaging without following

X has launched a new feature called X Numbers, which provides users with a unique, private contact code. This code allows others to send messages or make calls directly to a user's priority inbox without requiring mutual follows. The feature is designed to protect user privacy by avoiding the need to share real phone numbers. Users can refresh or hide their X Numbers at any time to prevent harassment or unwanted contact.
