Citrea acquires privacy wallet Crest to build Bitcoin privacy transaction gateway

Citrea has acquired the self-custodial privacy wallet Crest, with founder Meliksah Gurtemel joining as Head of Product. Crest will serve as Citrea's flagship privacy product, with plans to launch a mobile wallet in the coming weeks. The wallet will support automated privacy features, private BTC transfers, and cross-chain access, enabling users to pay USDC or ETH to EVM addresses using private BTC.
