White hat moves 52.37 BTC to Crypto Recovery Trust following Coldcard vulnerability

A white hat actor transferred 40.71 Bitcoin, worth approximately $3.31 million, in a transaction linked to the Coldcard vulnerability. Alex Thorn, head of research at Galaxy, noted that a total of 52.37 Bitcoin was consolidated from multiple attacker address clusters, representing about 2.8% of the funds involved. The vulnerability, stemming from a March 2021 firmware flaw in Coldcard devices that caused insufficient mnemonic randomness, saw peak affected funds reach approximately $130 million.
