Pokémon Gold Figure Retails for $10,000, Five Times Its Melt Value

A 24-karat gold figure of the Pokémon Gholdengo is being sold in Japan for approximately $9,800, despite having a gold melt value of roughly $2,080. The 15-gram collectible, produced by SGC, is available at the Yokohama Takashimaya department store from September 30 to October 5. The high premium reflects the value of the brand and craftsmanship rather than the metal content.
