Central Bank of Russia Targets Elimination of Illegal Crypto Exchanges by July 2027

The Central Bank of Russia has announced its objective to eliminate illegal cryptocurrency exchange services by July 1, 2027. While a law signed by President Putin on August 4, 2026, legalized digital assets and placed them under the central bank's regulatory oversight, exchanges are permitted to operate without formal registration until the July 2027 deadline.
