California woman sentenced to 18 months for failing to report $2.6 million in crypto-related illicit income

Iris Rabaya Au, 37, was sentenced to 18 months in prison for failing to report over $2.6 million in illicit income to the IRS. Au assisted her former partner, Adam Iza, in laundering funds obtained through fraudulent schemes involving Meta advertising accounts. The funds were used to purchase luxury assets and approximately $16 million in Bitcoin. Au was ordered to pay $1.48 million in restitution and forfeit luxury items. Iza is currently serving a 15-year sentence for separate charges.
