Alibaba's Cloud Unit Develops AI-Native Tablet 'QwenBook'

Alibaba Cloud's Wuying team is reportedly developing an AI-native tablet called QwenBook, which is expected to launch between late this year and early next year. The project, which began in April with a team of approximately 150, integrates the Qwen3.8-Max and Qwen3.8-Flash models directly into the system layer. The device aims to function as an AI agent computer, similar in concept to the Doubao phone, though it faces potential challenges regarding app compatibility and platform restrictions similar to those encountered by other AI-integrated hardware.
