Solana’s x402 Protocol Processes $50 Billion in AI-Driven Payments

Solana’s x402 protocol has reached $50 billion in volume across 150,000 merchant endpoints, according to a report from the Solana Foundation and Coinbase. The protocol revives the HTTP 402 status code to enable autonomous AI agents to handle stablecoin payments for web resources. Solana currently accounts for 76% of all x402 transactions.
