According to OpenRouter data for the week of September 14 to September 20, global AI model usage reached 129 trillion tokens, a 1.57% increase. Chinese AI models accounted for 67.46 trillion tokens, up 10.28% week-over-week, while US model usage fell 34.7% to 14.21 trillion tokens. China has now led global usage for 21 straight weeks. DeepSeek V4.1-Flash secured the top spot with 15.8 trillion tokens, marking a 219% increase.
