Coinbase Derivatives proposes perpetual futures for individual stocks and ETFs

Coinbase Derivatives has submitted a rule change to the SEC and an application to the CFTC to establish a framework for cash-settled perpetual futures on individual stocks and ETFs. These contracts would not involve physical delivery or ownership of the underlying securities. The proposal requires underlying assets to meet specific criteria, including a minimum market capitalization of $100 billion and significant daily trading volume. The proposal is currently pending regulatory approval.
