South Korean Police Arrest 26 Polymarket Users via Blockchain Tracking

South Korean police from the Gangwon Provincial Police Agency have arrested 26 individuals for illegal gambling on Polymarket. Since the platform is a non-custodial, peer-to-peer market, authorities could not obtain user data from the operator and instead utilized on-chain analysis of public blockchain transaction records to identify users. As of September 15, 18 of the suspects have been referred to the prosecution, with the total volume of illegal transactions reaching approximately $12.7 million. The Korea Communications Standards Commission blocked access to Polymarket in South Korea on August 18.
