Garrett Jin Whale Entity Tracks Massive BTC Sell-Offs and Trading Losses

According to PANews, on-chain analyst EmberCN (余烬) tracked the 'Garrett Jin' whale entity, which accumulated over 100,000 BTC in 2018. Since August 2025, the entity sold approximately 89,000 BTC to acquire 900,000 ETH, much of which was transferred to Binance in early 2026. The entity experienced a $230 million loss on ETH long positions in February 2026 and a $50.39 million loss in March 2026 due to a slippage incident involving a token. It currently holds a ZEC short position on Hyperliquid with an unrealized loss of approximately $34 million.
