Hut 8 Co-Founder Warns of Systemic Financial and Infrastructure Risks from AI

Marc van der Chijs, co-founder of Hut 8, warned that the rapid, uncontrolled development of AI poses systemic risks to financial systems and critical infrastructure. He expressed concern that catastrophic failures are likely before international safeguards are established and predicted that AI could eventually replace 90-95% of jobs. While he believes AI could expose vulnerabilities in traditional banking software, he maintains that Bitcoin remains a vital asset. Van der Chijs, who previously shifted capital from Bitcoin to AI, is now reinvesting some AI profits back into crypto assets via ETFs.
