Numerous Countries Expressing Interest in Joining BRICS

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that many nations remain interested in joining the BRICS alliance, viewing it as a prototype for a future multipolar world order. Despite pressure and threats of tariffs from the United States, Lavrov noted no decline in interest from emerging economies. To date, 45 countries have expressed interest in joining, with 23 having formally submitted applications. However, further expansion is unlikely in the immediate future following the bloc's 2024 growth.
