OpenAI Projects Cumulative Losses of Nearly $280 Billion by 2030

According to internal documents cited by the Financial Times, OpenAI expects to incur a cumulative negative free cash flow of 278 billion USD between 2026 and 2030. While the company projects annual revenue to grow from 36 billion USD this year to 350 billion USD by 2030, these earnings are insufficient to cover massive operational costs. OpenAI anticipates spending approximately 856 billion USD on computing power and infrastructure by the end of 2030, and current projections suggest that the 122 billion USD raised in March will be depleted by 2028.
