OpenAI Projects $280 Billion in Losses Through 2030 Amid Massive Infrastructure Spending

According to a presentation seen by the Financial Times, OpenAI expects to burn nearly $280 billion in cash by the end of 2030. The company projects negative free cash flow of $278 billion between 2026 and 2030 as it invests heavily in computing power and infrastructure, with total infrastructure spending estimated at $856 billion. Meanwhile, revenue is forecast to grow tenfold, rising from $36 billion this year to $350 billion by 2030, with cumulative revenue reaching $840 billion over the period.
