US House committee advances Digital Asset Tax Certainty Act

Following the defeat of the Clarity Act, the US House Ways and Means Committee approved the Digital Asset Tax Certainty Act (H.R. 10357). The bill aims to simplify crypto taxation by removing gain/loss calculations for network fees under $10 starting in 2028, classifying mining and staking rewards as ordinary income, and allowing certain investment funds to stake assets without losing tax status. It also extends wash-sale rules to digital assets, delaying loss deductions if identical assets are acquired within 30 days.
