UK Financial Conduct Authority releases final guidance on regulated crypto activities

The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has issued final guidance under Policy Statement PS26/18, detailing the crypto-asset activities subject to its new regulatory regime effective October 25, 2027. The scope includes custody, trading platforms, staking, and stablecoin issuance. Existing registrations under Money Laundering Regulations will not automatically convert to the new authorization. Firms must apply between September 30, 2026, and February 28, 2027, to utilize transitional arrangements.
