Kraken Parent Payward Plans US Perpetual Futures on Hyperliquid via CFTC-Regulated Framework

Payward, the parent company of Kraken, has announced plans to become the first US-registered exchange to offer perpetual futures on the Hyperliquid blockchain. The initiative utilizes Hyperliquid's HIP-3 protocol, which allows external institutions to manage permissioned markets. Trades will be listed through Bitnomial Exchange, overseen by the CFTC, and cleared by Bitnomial Clearinghouse. US customers will be required to undergo KYC/AML verification through NinjaTrader Clearing and Bitnomial to access these restricted markets, keeping the service separate from Hyperliquid's existing decentralized perpetual futures. The proposal aims to bridge the gap between US regulatory compliance and the high-volume offshore perpetual futures market, though no launch date or fee structure has been disclosed.
