S&P Global to acquire blockchain security firm OpenZeppelin

S&P Global has signed an agreement to acquire OpenZeppelin, a firm specializing in smart contract security and development tools. While the financial terms were not disclosed, OpenZeppelin will operate as a distinct unit under its current leadership, including CEO Demian Brener. S&P Global aims to integrate OpenZeppelin's technical risk analysis into its financial ratings. Founded in 2015, OpenZeppelin has conducted over 900 security audits and its code library has supported transactions totaling more than $37 trillion in cumulative value.
