Anthropic integrates Cowork mode into Claude chat for autonomous task execution

Anthropic is discontinuing its standalone Cowork mode, merging its agentic capabilities directly into the standard Claude chat interface. Claude will now autonomously determine whether a user request requires a simple response or a long-running agentic task. The update is rolling out to Pro and Max users across web, desktop, and mobile platforms, with Team and Free plans to follow. Existing tasks, projects, and connectors will be preserved in the unified interface.
