SBI Traceability's SHIMENAWA adopted by Yoshinogawa for sake authentication

SBI Traceability has introduced its blockchain-based traceability service, SHIMENAWA, to the historic sake brewery Yoshinogawa in Nagaoka, Niigata. The service uses NFC tags and blockchain technology to verify the authenticity of high-value sake bottles, detect if a bottle has been opened, and provide consumers with digital content such as production stories and pairing suggestions. This initiative aims to protect against counterfeit products and unauthorized distribution while enhancing consumer engagement. Similar implementations have previously been conducted for other Japanese sake and wine brands.
