Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google discuss establishing AI industry standards

Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google are in discussions to form an industry-led standards body for artificial intelligence. The talks began prior to Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei's recent call for coordination on technical testing and auditing. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman expressed support for such an organization, noting that major AI labs may need to establish it independently if US government support is unavailable. Working group meetings between the companies are ongoing.
