Anthropic Reports Blocking Attempts to Use AI for Bioweapon Research

Anthropic stated that it has blocked multiple attempts this year by researchers to use its AI models for activities potentially related to bioweapon development. The company identified five cases where users bypassed safety controls and obscured their research objectives. In one instance, a researcher from an unsupported region used Claude to plan experiments involving avian influenza.
