Elon Musk stated on X that the AI industry is heading toward a massive power shortage by 2027, with analysts projecting a deficit of at least 15 gigawatts for AI chips. Musk noted that while AI chip production is growing at an annual rate of 40% to 50%, available power outside of China is only increasing by 10% to 20% per year, creating an unsustainable gap.
