OpenAI Terminates Cursor Access Following Anysphere Acquisition by SpaceX
OpenAI will end direct access to its models for the AI coding tool Cursor on November 12, citing concerns over the acquisition of Cursor's parent company, Anysphere, by SpaceX. OpenAI expressed doubt regarding SpaceX's adherence to its terms of service, referencing past disputes involving Elon Musk's companies. While the move impacts only 5% of Cursor's traffic, it marks an escalation in the rivalry between Sam Altman and Elon Musk. Anthropic has since announced increased support for integrating Claude into the Cursor platform.
