Advent and Stripe Abandon $50 Billion Acquisition Bid for PayPal
A consortium led by private equity firm Advent and payment processor Stripe has decided to drop its pursuit of fintech company PayPal. The group had previously proposed an acquisition deal valued at approximately $53 billion, which would have marked one of the largest leveraged buyouts in history. Representatives from Advent, Stripe, and PayPal declined to comment on the matter.
