Bitcoin Node Operators Can Reclaim 40 GB of Storage Through Database Rebuild

A recent update merged into the Bitcoin master branch allows node operators to reduce their database size by 40 GB. To realize these storage savings, operators must manually rebuild the optional index. The update also requires users to plan for an additional rebuild process should they choose to downgrade their node software in the future.
