Goldman Sachs Raises WFE Spending Forecast to $150 Billion
Goldman Sachs released a global semiconductor capital equipment report on August 23, raising its Wafer Front-End (WFE) equipment spending forecasts for 2026–2028 to $150 billion, $218 billion, and $281 billion, respectively. This represents a significant upward revision driven by short-term demand for DRAM and advanced process foundries, with NAND and logic sectors expected to contribute in the medium term.
