US Department of Justice Charges 17 Iranians for Massive Cyber Espionage Campaign

The US Department of Justice has indicted 17 members of the Iranian Mabna Institute for conducting long-term cyber intrusions. The group is accused of targeting 144 US universities, 178 foreign universities, and over 50 companies and government entities to steal more than 31 TB of sensitive data. The indictment states that since 2013, the group operated under the direction of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to steal research and proprietary data for pr
